About your Host

Namaste Yoga Safari is a wellness travel company specialising in yoga holidays in some of the greatest safari destinations in Africa since 2016. Marcel, founder and yoga teacher of NYS, combines wildlife encounters, conservation, vibrant cultural experiences, nature hikes, adventurous days and mindful yoga flows out in nature. As a native Namibian yoga instructor and seasoned guide, she bring years of travel expertise, coupled with a profound love for adventure, nature, and mindfulness.

    Day 1: Upon your arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be met and taken to your accommodation. If you find yourself arriving with ample time, consider joining an optional activity, such as a leisurely city tour or a sunset hike up Lions Head.

    As the day gently transitions into night, a nourishing dinner experience awaits at one of Cape Town's renowned restaurants. Here, amidst delightful cuisine, we'll engage in discussions that unveil the exciting prospects the next few days hold for our journey of adventure and well-being.

    Day 2: Today will be an exhilarating day of adventure and wellness as we conquer the majestic Table Mountain. After a hearty breakfast, we'll head up the mountain, where some of the world's most breathtaking views await. Nestled in the heart of the Cape Floral Kingdom, this trail promises an unrivaled plant diversity, recognized as an international biodiversity hotspot.

    Packed lunch at the peak, surrounded by awe-inspiring vistas that elevate the senses. Our descent involves a thrilling ride on the rotating aerial cableway, offering a unique perspective of the landscape.

    As the day's adventures conclude, return to our accommodation for a well-deserved relaxation before reconvening for a delightful dinner. This experience isn't just a hike; it's an exploration of nature's wonders, a moment of self-discovery, and a celebration of both adventure and wellness.

    Day 3 & 4:

    Location: Cape Town Vineland's

    Accommodation: Camp Canoe

    Day 3: Today we will explore the pristine underwater world of the area famously featured in "My Octopus Teacher." Engage in the serenity of snorkeling, connecting with the natural beauty that inspired such a remarkable documentary.

    Next, embark on a meaningful visit to Boulders Beach, home to the endangered African penguin colony. By immersing yourself in the presence of these remarkable seabirds, you contribute to their conservation efforts. These penguins face threats from habitat loss, diminishing fish stocks, and encroaching human activities, making your visit a vital support to their survival.

    Following a light and nourishing lunch, our journey continues to the National Park at the edge of the earth. Delight in a wellness-focused yoga session on the cliffs of Cape Point, overlooking the majestic Cape of Good Hope. As we journey back along the rugged Atlantic coastline to our accommodation, take in the rejuvenating sea breeze.

    Freshen up for the evening before a wholesome dinner, reflecting on a day filled with wellness, conservation, and a deep connection with nature. Your presence not only enriches your well-being but also contributes to the preservation of the remarkable wildlife and ecosystems we encounter.

    Day 4: A day dedicated to nurturing your well-being amidst the picturesque Winelands. Begin with a short, invigorating hike to Paarl Rocks, where a mindful flow prepares your body and mind for the exhilarating experience of abseiling from the summit.

    Continue with a guided e-mountain bike tour through the scenic Stellenbosch vineyards, pausing for wine tastings at select boutique estates that embody the artistry of winemaking.

    As you ascend the breathtaking Banghoek pass, revel in one of the world's most scenic wine country views before descending into Franschhoek, where the French have perfected the art of winemaking in the heart of Africa. A leisurely lunch awaits at one of the country's oldest wine estates, offering a moment of relaxation and indulgence.

    Location: KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

    Accommodation: Isambane Camp

    Day 5: Awaken your senses with a harmonizing yoga session amidst nature, preparing your mind and body for the enchanting journey ahead. Our next destination awaits, and we transition to a wellness-focused adventure in the Kruger National Park.

    The flight from Cape Town to Hoedspruit is 2.5 hours and we will be met by one of Isambane’s representative for our transfer to the Camp. The soothing ambiance invites you to settle in and unwind by the pool. As the day concludes, savor an outdoor dinner under the stars, setting the stage for a restful night.

    Day 6 & 7:Embrace the new day with a revitalizing breakfast, setting the tone for a morning wildlife game drive. Following the adventure, partake in a yoga session to align your mind and body with the natural rhythm of the reserve.

    Indulge in personal leisure during the afternoon, offering the perfect opportunity for a rejuvenating massage to enhance your well-being. As the day gently transitions to evening, join an afternoon game drive, culminating in a tranquil sundowner on the reserve.       Kruger National Park, situated in northeastern South Africa, a wilderness sanctuary that stands as one of Africa's premier wildlife destinations. Renowned for its remarkable biodiversity, Kruger National Park is home to an impressive array of wildlife, making it a haven for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers. The park is famed for its "Big Five" – lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and rhinoceros – symbolizing the incredible diversity of large mammals that roam freely within its boundaries. Visitors can embark on thrilling game drives and guided safaris to witness these majestic creatures, along with a multitude of other species, including giraffes, zebras, hippos, crocodiles, and an array of bird species.

  • Should cancellations be made less than 90 but more than 60 days prior to the retreat date, payments will be refunded less the non-refundable deposit and minus a €150 admin/bank processing fee. When cancellation is made less than 60 and more than 30 days prior to retreat date, 50% of the retreat cost will be refunded less the admin/bank processing fee and the non-refundable deposit. If cancellation is made less than 30 days prior to the retreat date, no payments will be refunded. However, if someone else takes your place then a refund will be made on the same basis as in the case of a cancellation made less than 60 days and more than 30 days prior to the retreat date.

  • We welcome all levels from beginners to advance, adjusting sessions according to your experience. Groups are small which allows personal attention, tailoring to your personal needs.

  • We supply all props on our yoga holidays in Africa, but please bring your own yoga mat.

  • Due to most activities taking place early in the mornings, majority of the yoga session will take place in the afternoon. You can expect about 8 sessions in 8 days.

    Our yoga sessions will encompass a blend of yin, slow flows, vinyasa flows, and hatha-inspired practices, in addition to incorporating breathing techniques and a variety of guided meditations. All these sessions will be conducted amidst the natural beauty of Cape Town and the bush in Kruger National Park.

    Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe is one of World’s 7 Natural Wonders and an obvious must visit and must see destination. Victoria Falls town boasts a multitude of activities which make it a great place to visit. Besides the roaring falls that stand before the raging Zambezi River which in themselves are the true reason for the visit, there are a number of other exhilarating activities that one can partake in. Bungee jumping, white water rafting, abseiling and of course the luxurious river boat cruises are all available in one place.

    2 Nights in Chobe National Park, Botswana

    Chobe National Park is in northern Botswana near the vast, inland Okavango Delta. It's known for its large herds of elephants and Cape buffalo. Lions, antelopes and hippos inhabit the woods and lagoons, the floodable grasslands attract numerous bird species, plus migrating zebras. The wildlife here are different than what you would experience in Namibia, as here you also get the chance to see buffalo, hippos, crocodiles and various different bird and antelope species.
