Day 1
Once you have arrived on our peace of heaven, settle into your luxurious accommodation, relax for the rest of the day or join one of the many exciting activities that Habitas offers. A much-needed massage will loosen your body and open your heart as you take in the beautiful surroundings.
Start your personal journey with an ancient intention setting ritual and shake-off the travel vibes with an energetic dance session. Make contact with the power of your breath. After that you will all get-together at the large dinner table under the African sky.
Day 2
Sink into your first full-day on this retreat. On the game drive that begins this day, you’ll implement strategies for quieting your thoughts and enhancing your sense perceptions. In the past, we’ve found that animals respond to us very differently — with no fear or tension — as the group becomes more deeply calm. This experience will help you “hold” the energy of peace back in your ordinary life. Allow yourself to let go of what no longer serves you as you completely surrender your body-mind. Grounded in the present moment, you are invited to explore and rediscover the transformative power within yourselves.
Morning session: After your drive into the wild and a healthy breakfast, you will engage all your senses with a soft warm-up, beginning with yoga, and an introduction to the yogic forms of breathing known as pranayama. After an initial full-body practice, we segue into a led meditation, designed precisely to open you to the vastness of the African savannah.
Midday integration/rest break.
We’ve found that between jet lag, early mornings, and profound insights, time for rest, reflection and integration is an essential part of the BreathQ experience. You can nap, journal, get a massage, or relax on your private deck and take in the view.
Evening session: The evening session will be about regulating your body through your breath to the vastness of the night sky. Using a combination of drumming and silence we will regulate our breathing through a series of exercises designed to expand the heart, and thus the soul. With endless views, you will release tension from your body, boost your mood and prime yourself for a super-effective breathwork meditation to end this day with high vibrational energies.
Day 3
This day is all about activating different energetic states of your mindbody by moving and breathing – in the end you will find your personal unique (breath) flow.
Morning session: This morning we will learn to flow and breathe with that movement. Using high-vibrational energized movement to extend our cardiovascular and respiratory systems, we will learn how to gain more energy, endurance, and stamina, as well as a sense of increased well-being. Through this movement, we will discover a deep sense of calm through which we will feel more relaxed and present.
Midday integration/rest break.
Evening session: Your evening begins with a silent bush walk where you will tune your senses to the wild in inner stillness. After returning to the yoga deck, we will practice a deepening SOMA breathwork session in silence – experienced in a group-setting.
The last session of the day is Targeted Flexibility Training - a science-based breath-led mobility training that will help you to improve the flexibility of your hips, hamstrings and spine with long-lasting results. Learn to turn off your nervous systems’ stretch reflex by down-regulating your breathing. A flexible body aids long-term health and wellbeing, leading to an enhanced ‘health-span’, which is what we all want. Science-of-Stretching instructor Silke will guide you through an intense, highly motivational one hour session on the look-out deck followed by a mouth-watering dinner under the African sky.
Day 4
Open up to more lessons from the wild. Today you will experience increased self-awareness and be guided to your first experience with mind-expanding breathwork that is intended to help with emotional healing and personal growth.
Morning session: After a day of movement, we commence this day with a sunrise meditation, evolving from a seated posture to a guided meditative walk in the bush, all while breathing intentionally in a carefully attuned manner. This will move into a series of embodiment exercises to reconnect us once more to our nature of being. You will find information in nature – from unexpected sources – that you can help solve the problems of everyday life and embrace a more powerful version of yourself. Your coaches will help you shape the ideas and inspiration that are rising to the surface of your consciousness.
Midday integration/rest break.
Evening session: Soma Breath® Awakening Session with live African drumming. This 90- minute session will bring you deep into an attuned and possibly psychedelic space in which all components and experiences are fused into a single point. This and the following night are our deep transformations, the moment we’ve all been waiting for. The evening will end with a celebratory dinner under the stars.
Day 5
Gently we will all prepare ourselves for the evening’s intense deep dive into a transformational breathwork session involving rhythmic breathing, breath holds, music and led meditation. This is the highlight of our retreat where you will find yourself immersed in a 2 hr session of profound transformation and change
Morning session: Sunrise salutation yoga class for early birds. Together we will dive into a final prep-session where we will channel energy from the natural world into our innerst by flowing through different breathwork techniques activating our chakra energy. All exercises will take place in a river bed, covered by shading trees and followed by a replenishing bush breakfast.
Midday integration/rest break.
Evening session: It’s time to breathe and dive deep together in an intense 2 hours breathwork session. Transformational breathwork is an active meditation using the conscious connected breathing technique to facilitate emotional release, transformative inner healing, deep insights and self-exploration. Your breathwork guides Silke and Sonni will start by a grounding practice and softly take you through an intense breathwork journey that will enable you to clear out mental, emotional and physical blockages. Set to carefully curated SOMA® breath music to bring you on a powerful journey into profound states of awareness using only sound, breath and movement and guided by our inner intelligence. This kind of breathwork combines dynamic breathing techniques from ancient traditions and research from modern neuroscience together with evocative music that will enable you to bypass the mind and drop into your body. By entering an altered state of consciousness, breathwork allows us to access parts of our subconscious that we normally aren’t aware of or cannot connect to. You will experience how deep conscious connected breathing helps quiet the mind to access and release unprocessed energy and emotions in the body, gain clarity and insight, and connect deeper with yourself. Discover what it means to use the power of the breath as a tool for self-exploration, emotional release and self-healing.
Day 6
Closing out your retreat experience by reflecting – balancing – manifesting. Let all experiences sink in deeply. Whenever we undergo an intense transformational experience, it is important to take the time to integrate and return the body and mind to a sense of wholeness and completion. After a leisurely breakfast we will gather for an integration circle, sharing our experiences and discussing what comes next.
Whatever your personal insights from the BreathQ® experience, Silke and Sonni will help you design a continuing practice to sustain your connection to your true nature. This practice will be both intrinsically rewarding and profoundly life-enhancing. We recommend letting your breath-trip deeply sink-in and reflect on the experience of the last 5 days. The coaches will be available afterwards for one-on-one consulting. Either withdraw to the quietness of your tent or deepen your connections to others by exchanging your experiences. You can also relax at the pool or enjoy a massage – spend your personal wellbeing-time at the Bush Spa or go for a last game drive or bush walk.
Day 7
Time to say goodbye. We will send you off with hugs, group photos and a lifetime of memories. You are returning home – or venture on your personal extended holiday. If you need help organizing a customized trip according to your personal requirements, please reach out to us. Habitas will transfer you to the airport in time for your flight back home. You have reached the end of your adventure.

We recommend bringing comfortable breathable yoga clothing such as leggings, shorts, and loose tops for comfort during sessions. Bring a light sweater or shawl for early mornings and evenings, as temperatures can drop. We advise bringing a reusable water bottle and your favorite yoga mat. Good sunglasses are non-negotiable on sunlit days, sunscreen (please use the highest protection of sunblock 50 plus), sturdy walking shoes (sneakers and/or boots), lip balm, hydrating face and body cream - and most important: an open mind.
